April 22nd

Today I had four "missions" to accomplish. I woke up earlier than usual, about 7.30 a.m. Luckily today's weather was not so hot as the sun was partially hidden by clouds.

First, I went to mini market in my neighbourhood to photocopy my identification card and SPM result slip. I photocopied four each to store for later use. After that, I proceeded with taking bus to Pekan Rabu. Yeah, I waited for only one minute, the bus came already. I didn't have to wait for couple of minutes as usual. Sometimes it was longer than waiting Wil Bond's car. At 9, the bus arrived at Pekan Rabu, I continued walking to my school. It was hot as the clouds had gone and the sun made its appearance. It made me to sweat profusely.

Once I stepped into the main gate of school, I could feel my heart was pounding. As I walked past the class of 5 Gamma, Chee Sian and Victor greeted me. Even I bowed my head low they still saw me. I went upstairs to the office directly. In the office, I only saw En. Asri in his room, another two PKs were not there. But before that, I had to wait ten more minutes to let him finished his conversation with the parents of a student. Between that, Pn. Maznah walked in. She asked why I had been here. I explained to her that I wanted to make appealing for matriculation. There was another pair of visitors wanted to go in. The man asked me: "Sekejap atau lama?" "Sekejap", I replied. "Kamu masuk dulu, kami mungkin lama sikit." I thanked him and nodded in reply. Then, I went into the room and greeted En. Asri good morning. I asked for his permission to help me certifying my photocopied documents. He asked me what were these documents for. I explained I wanted to use for making appealing for matriculation. He also wanted to know who else got the offer but I was not sure about it. When En. Asri had signed all, I thanked him.

Then, I walked from school to MCA office. The office was just opposite to Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), my father told me a day before. As I opened the door, there were four ladies inside the office. One of the secretaries asked me to wait for another secretary. Later on, she asked me to submit the form, together with the identification card and result slip copies. I also submitted one copy of appealing letter though it was not necessary. She said never mind. She would be sending all the documents and she asked me to read newspaper for the result. I thanked her.

After that, I went to post office. On my way to post office, I walked past a beggar. Suddenly, he "hoi" me. I was startled. Looked like he wanted me to give him some money. I felt helpless at that time. So, unwillingly I grabbed some coins from pocket to him. He "hmm" like showing his satisfaction. Oh my God! He got hands and legs, why didn't he get a proper job? In the post office, I wanted to send my appealing letter to Education Minister through Pos Laju. But the clerk said: "Rugilah macam tu, kami untung", because I had affixed stamps already. So I had to pay extra one ringgit plus RM 5.70 delivery charge. After all tasks had settled, I went home.

is IE 8 good enough?

Turn off IE 8? Nah
Internet Explorer 8 is a web browser by Microsoft and it is the successor to IE 7. Now IE 8 is available in beta preview version for downloading into computer for testing purpose. This browser is recommended to web developers and experts only. It is not intended to be a fully functional product for web surfers yet.

IE 8 has been improved to meet users' need with new features such as Accelerators, Web Slices, InPrivate Browsing, Search Suggestions and etc. Accelerators are contextual services that allow easy access to Internet services from any web page. Web Slices is a new feature for web sites to connect to their users by subscribing to the content directly within a web page. Developers can mark parts of the pages as Web Slices. It works nearly like a RSS web feed.

Despite the major improvements have been made to IE 8, some of the "newly" added features have already introduced in other web browsers such as the competitor, Mozilla Firefox and the newly released browser, Google Chrome. One of the feature in IE 8 such as InPrivate Browsing is available in Chrome as Incognito Browsing. While the others include Search Suggestions and Automatic Crash Recovery.

IE 7 has made its major update in the aspects of feature and interface. The features that are introduced by IE 7 including Tabbed Browsing and Delete Browsing History. These features might not bring surprise to most of the web surfers as they are already available in Firefox. So, could IE 7 satisfies most of the users and and regain its glory? Maybe IE 8 can realise them.

The future operating system, Windows 7, which is believed to be announced in 2010, have a feature that can disable IE 8, but it cannot be removed from Windows 7. Once disabled, it is no longer available for use, which means that no data will be loaded by the operating system.

The question is, will I disable IE 8 if I am using Windows 7? I am not going to turn it off because some of the websites work best with IE. So, it is annoying to enable it back for this purpose. On Windows XP, I use Chrome and Firefox, depending on my mood. I rarely use IE 7 because it loads the slowest and most vulnerable to online threats, compared to Chrome and Firefox.

Why we have to disable it? Just set our desired browser as default. So, it will not pop up every time we want to open a website when we click on the link in other application.

HUMMING...

I'm walking alone
on my way home

Sometimes it can be hot
cloudy or raining
But these will never weaken my spirit

The distance's getting nearer
than I thought at first
My steps become faster

I want to get into the warmth of my blanket
embrace it and have a sweet dream

So I keep thinking of the good things
that might happen to me
and the people around me
because they distract me from thinking of
the tiredness when walking alone

There are many things to see
while on the way home
Some brighten up my feeling if they are nice
some are irritating me
when there are unavoidable nuisance

The nature is warming up
Things are awaken by the call
becoming active again

While I am accompanied by the blue sky
my spirit is soaring even higher and getting thrilled

The splendid view along the walk will stay always
the nuisance will vanish from this world
Then the world will be more vivid and colorful
